Below, I’m going to tell you how are you can make money even if you are a complete beginner and new to blogging.
Choose a niche
When starting a blog is important that you have an idea of what your blog is going to be about. Think about your expertise and knowledge in something and how it can help solve someone’s problem. For example, you might be a mum of three and want to share advice on how to have a good work/ family balance. Or maybe you are a seasoned traveller and want to share the best tips on how to find cheap flights.
Set up a blog
Here, we have so many options on how to set up a blog. The faster way and the one the most bloggers use is by using WordPress. I’ve made an article previously on how to set up a WordPress blog through Bluehost. This will give you the best freedom when it comes to customisation, monetisation and promotion. Avoid at all costs websites like Squarespace or Wix. They are NOT designed for blogging.
Create great content
Now that your blog is up and alive, you want to give readers some content to read. As I said before, potential readers will come to your blog in search of an answer to their problems. So keep these in mind when you write content for your blog. When starting, I would advise you to have 20-30 posts already made and ready to publish. This will give your readers a good amount of material to read while continuing to build up content week after week.
Start affiliate marketing
At this point, you probably have mentioned some product or service in your post. You can leverage your opinion and make money recommending something that you use. With affiliate marketing, you can earn a percentage when someone purchases the item you are recommending. You can use Amazon affiliate and share a sale to find products and start earning commissions.
Make and sell a course
If you have a skill that you can teach to people, a great way to make money with it is to make and sell it with a course. You can decide on the price and how to deliver this course. Of course, you have to consider the time to create this course in advance as you don’t want to rush things and you want to deliver a great course. Furthermore, you have to consider who’s gonna buy the course and how to market the course to them.
Sell a product
Alternatively to a course, you can decide to sell a product. These can be physical or digital products. When starting out your blogging journey, I will advise you to stick to digital products. They don’t require a massive investment upfront apart from the time you spend in creating the product. Examples of digital products can be ebooks, social media templates, checklists, vectors, etc.
Place adverts in your blog
A great way to make money blogging is by using your blog as a place for advertisers to publish their adverts. This service is all automated by platforms like Google AdSense, Mediavine or . You don’t have to do anything at all apart from letting this platform know you are happy to place adverts in your blog and placing some banners in your content. Every time someone will click on an advert, you’ll earn some money. So the More people visiting your blog, your earning potentials will increase.

If you like writing and you’re good at storytelling, you can get paid to write a post about a product or service. The amount you can earn will depend on different factors like views, your social media following or the authority of your domain name. Just make sure to discuss this with the company you are sponsoring before writing the post.
