Pinterest is one of the best platforms you can use to grow your blog. A lot of bloggers use Pinterest to Take readers to their blog. Think about your own experience:  how many times do you click on a pin to read an article you’re interested in? If it wasn’t for Pinterest you would have never found out about that particular blog. And your potential readers are experiencing the same about your blog. They have a problem, you have the answer and Pinterest enables you to Suggest your blog or article as an answer to their problems.

So here are the 5 things you must do on your Pinterest account as a new blogger if you want To show Your blog to potential readers out there.

Convert your account into a Business Pinterest account

You have probably now open your Pinterest account or you already have one from before. The next step you need to do is to convert your personal Pinterest account into a business one.

It’s completely free and gives you the possibility to access a lot of helpful tools, like analytics, ads and much more, that you wouldn’t be able to do with just a personal account.

Here’s a quick guide on how you can do the conversion.

Claim your blog on Pinterest

This step is only possible if you have converted your Pinterest account into a business one. To make sure not to skip step one.

Now you have to claim your blog on Pinterest.  What does it mean? Basically, your blog and Pinterest will exchange useful information you can use for analytic purposes. I said just for claiming your website with this HTML tag as it’s easier and doesn’t require any technical skills.

Remember:  you can only claim a blog when it’s self-hosted. You can find more information about what a self-hosted blog is and works in my previous article

Optimise your profile

As the final step, you have to complete and optimise your profile. Think about your profile as the window shop of your blog, where you can show potential readers what’s your blog is about and what problems it can solve.

This is where you Have to use relevant keywords, So you’ll have to do a little bit of keyword research beforehand. Also,  Pinterest uses keywords to best match your profile when users search for that specific keywords.

For example,  if a potential reader Search for self-improvement tips, Pinterest will know that your profile is about self-Improvement. Hence your profile and pins will be more likely to appear in the search result.
